TERMS & CONDITIONS

PAYMENT INFORMATION - HOLIDAY PROGRAMME​​

  • Payment is required by Monday 8 January 2024 for the July holiday programmes. If payment is not received by this time your child(s) place in the programme may be given to someone else.
    (NOTE: If booking after this date, payment is due ASAP before the start of the programme).

  • If the holiday programme is cancelled due to health & safety restrictions/circumstances (such as Covid-19) more than 72 hours before the first day of the week, a full refund will be given to all students/families.

  • If the holiday programme is cancelled due to health & safety restrictions/circumstances (such as Covid-19) less than 72 hours before the first day of the week, the programme will shift to online/at-home delivery and a 50% refund will be given. The online/at-home programme will consist of a mixture of live stream (Zoom) and recorded classes.

  • If the holiday programme is cancelled on or after the first day of the week due to health & safety restrictions/circumstances (such as Covid-19), the programme will shift to online/at-home delivery and no refunds will be given. The online/at-home programme will consist of a mixture of live stream (Zoom) and recorded classes.

  • Booking and payment after the payment due dates may be made only if spaces are still available/become available, however payment for these bookings are due before the first day of the programme.

  • Refunds will not be given after the start date for any booking cancellations, sickness, injuries or other personal circumstances.



PAYMENT INFORMATION - AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES

  • Payment is required by 6 Ocotober 2023 for Term 4 classes. If payment is not received by this time your/your child(s) place in the classes may be given to someone else. (If booking after this date, payment is due ASAP before the first class).

  • The term fee $80 (5-12+ yrs) and $60 (adults) covers an 8-10 week term. The length of terms may vary.

  • If after school/adults classes are unable to go ahead in person due to health & safety restrictions/circumstances (such as Covid-19), classes will either shift to online or be cancelled (depending on the circumstances around restrictions and teaching staff at the time). If they shift to online, no refund will be given. If they are cancelled, the class/es will either be rescheduled or a full refund may be given at a pro-rata rate.

  • Refunds will not be given for any class absences due to cancellations, sickness, injuries or personal circumstances.​


ONLINE HOLIDAY/AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES

  • I understand online programme/classes requires me to connect to Zoom for the classes and a link for access will be sent out the day/week prior.

  • The class link must not be shared with anyone outside of the household which booked for the programme/classes.

  • The zoom classes may be recorded and shared with participants after each session.

  • Refunds will not be given for any class absences due to cancellations, sickness, injuries or personal circumstances.​

GENERAL

  • HOLIDAY PROGRAMME - All students must be signed in at the beginning of the day between 8.30am-9am, and must be picked up and signed out by a parent/caregiver no later than 4pm (or 5pm for the 'SUPER' holiday programme). Parents/caregivers will incur a $10 charge for every 15 minutes after the day/class finish time. Late pick ups cannot be arranged due to venue hire and staff availability.

  • AFTERSCHOOL CLASSES - All students must be signed in by a parent/caregiver at the beginning of each class.

  • Parents/caregivers are responsible for the safe drop off and pick up of students.

  • Caregivers must advise if there are any changes to details given on the student's registration, and ensure the student's date of birth is correct.

  • If your child/ren is not attending one or more booked days/classes please inform the teacher/organiser.

  • Organisers/teachers will not accept liability for loss and damage to the student(s) property, or damage to the school property, but every care will be taken.

  • Parents/caregivers are to provide food for lunch and meal breaks (holiday programmes only), a water bottle, and ensure children are dressed in appropriate clothing.

  • It is recommended students bring their own sunscreen, hat, warm clothes, and pencil case. There will be sunscreen and hand sanitiser available.

  • It is possible that the advertised programme/classes/teachers may change without notice, due to unforeseen circumstances.



HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Your child/rens safety and wellbeing is extremely important. While Initiate Dance and its staff will not be liable for any illnesses and injuries, all due care will be taken by staff.

  • All medical or other condition(s) information relevant to your child/ren's wellbeing at the time of the programme/classes should be provided before and during the programme.

  • Initiate Dance and its staff will not be liable for childrens' safety outside of the programme/class times or for a child making their way to and from the programme. 

  • In the event of any injury or illness to your child/ren, we will make every effort possible to contact the emergency contact, and any necessary medical authorities, promptly. All appropriate steps will be taken to ensure your child’s wellbeing. Any costs for an ambulance or medical costs incurred will be your responsibility.

  • Parents/caregivers are expected to be able to collect their child at any time if they become unwell, jeopardise the safety of other children or staff at the programme/classes, or are identified as a health risk to other children or staff at our programme

  • Parents will be advised that children are not to attend the programme/classes if their child/ren are unwell, and/or if they have any covid-19 symptoms while they have a positive case in their household (even with a negative test).

  • All children are encouraged to wash/sanitise their hands frequently. Hand sanitizer will also be available throughout the duration of the programme/classes. Students will be encouraged to follow best hygiene practices, including coughing and sneezing into the elbow and hand washing.

  • During morning tea, lunch and afternoon breaks at holiday programmes, children will be reminded of best hygiene practices. Staff will be extra vigilant to ensure everyone is following these practices

  • A health & safety risk management plan will be in place and all staff will be familiar with the plan. Staff will be following and actioning all health & safety measures. Staff will not attend the programme if they are unwell.

  • By booking a place in any Initiate Dance programme/class, families and students agree to health & safety guidelines set out in the Terms & Conditions, and any future updates to the guidelines.

  • MASKS: Masks are optional for everyone, and students are welcome to wear one during the programme/classes if they like.

  • DISTANCING: Physical distancing is not required, but we know everyone has different levels of comfort. We ask that you be mindful of others, and don't stand too close while talking.

  • IF YOU / YOUR CHILD TESTS POSITIVE: We ask you to please use common sense - if someone in your household has tested positive for covid-19 and your child/ren has symptoms (even with a negative test), please don't bring them to the programme.


PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE & PRIVACY

  • By booking in the Initiate Dance holiday programmes and/or after school classes and/or disco you give consent to Kristie Mortimer and Initiate Dance to use and own all copyright of any photos and footage taken of the registered participant during the Initiate Dance programme and classes your child(s) is registered in, and for these to be used in documentation, publication and promotion of dance projects run by Kristie Mortimer and Initiate Dance.

  • When booking for the Initiate Dance we collect personal information about parents and their children, such as name, contact details, date of birth, dance experience, medical information, and covid-19 vaccine pass expiry date (where required). This information is stored in a thirdparty database named Dance Studio Pro. To book you are required to set up a Dance Studio Pro (Initiate Dance) account with your information. Dance Studio Pro have a separate Privacy Policy.

  • Your information is also held by the organiser of Initiate Dance, and only necessary information will be disclosed to the teachers of the Initiate Dance programmes and after school classes.

  • To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

  • Children/Parents/Caregivers undertake not to make copies of any Initiate Dance material, and/or use our intellectual property rights and content unless authorised to do so by Initiate Dance organisers in writing.

  • You have rights of access to, and correction of, personal information that we hold about you. You may correct or change the information collected at any time and as often as necessary. To do so, simply log in and update your online account, or alternatively get in touch using the “Contact Us” option on the Site.

  • You can also make choices about whether you receive promotional communications from us by following the ‘unsubscribe’ instructions included in our communications.

  • We may change and update our terms and conditions from time to time by updating this web page. Any such change and/or update of our terms and conditions will take effect when it is posted here. It is recommended to review our terms and conditions and Covid-19 guidelines often.
